Summary: This second of two (2), one (1) year renewal options will allow the Office of the Medical Examiner (OME) to continue to receive forensic toxicological testing in the toxicology laboratory. Currently, the OME uses National Medical Services, Inc. d/b/a NMS Labs to assist with drug testing in determining manner and cause of death. The ME office is working towards performing more in-house testing without using outside sources.
This contract was awarded through the competitive bidding process in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code. National Medical Services, Inc. d/b/a NMS Labs was the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.
