Kovacs, Sr. was born March 15, 1934 to the late J?zsef and Erzs?bet (nee Szab?) in Hungary; and WHEREAS, he is the brother of Erzs?bet and Ir?n and the late Istv?n, M?ria, B?la, J?nos and Andr?s, and Margit; and WHEREAS, he came to America in 1957, personally escorted by Vice President Nixon on the Air Force Two, after being actively involved in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956; and WHEREAS, he later married Judith Crabb and whose union was blessed with Michael Jr. (Lisa) and Robert (Barbara) Kovacs; and WHEREAS, he became the proud grandpa of Michael Kovacs III, Cara Kovacs, Amy Kovacs, Debra (Esteban), Corral and Robert Kovacs; and WHEREAS, Michael Kovacs was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus Coronata Council #3806; and WHEREAS, Michael Kovacs was a humanitarian, community activist, a pro bowler named in the bowling hall of fame, and an inventor with numerous pate...

IN CELEBRATION OF THE LIFE OF MICHAEL J. KOVACS, SR.

 

WHEREAS, Michael J. Kovacs, Sr. was born March 15, 1934 to the late József and Erzsébet (nee Szabó) in Hungary; and

 

WHEREAS, he is the brother of Erzsébet and Irén and the late István, Mária, Béla, János and András, and Margit; and 

 

WHEREAS, he came to America in 1957, personally escorted by Vice President Nixon on the Air Force Two, after being actively involved in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956; and

 

WHEREAS, he later married Judith Crabb and whose union was blessed with Michael Jr. (Lisa) and Robert (Barbara) Kovacs; and

 

WHEREAS, he became the proud grandpa of Michael Kovacs III, Cara Kovacs, Amy Kovacs, Debra (Esteban), Corral and Robert Kovacs; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael Kovacs was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus Coronata Council #3806; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael Kovacs was a humanitarian, community activist, a pro bowler named in the bowling hall of fame, and an inventor with numerous patents;

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners that Cook County shall recognize and honor Mr. Michael J. Kovacs, Sr. in celebration of his life and accomplishments;  and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Cook County Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the family of Mr. Michael J. Kovacs, Sr.
