Green Cruzat will complete her service as Chief of Staff to Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle; and WHEREAS, Ms. Green Cruzat will return to the not-for-profit arena as she assumes her new position as President of Voices for Illinois Children a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to serve as an independent, non-partisan advocate for responsible public investments and policies that give Illinois' children and families the resources they need to live healthy, stable lives; and WHEREAS, prior to beginning her career in government administration Ms. Green Cruzat served as Executive Director of High Jump, a non-profit organization devoted to providing enriched academic opportunities for talented, low-income middle school students; and WHEREAS, Ms. Green Cruzat brought with her a wealth of significant government experience to the Chief of Staff position....

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

IN RECOGNITION OF TASHA R. GREEN CRUZAT

 

WHEREAS, on Friday March 4, 2016 Tasha R. Green Cruzat will complete her service as Chief of Staff to Cook County Board President, Toni Preckwinkle; and 

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Green Cruzat will return to the not-for-profit arena as she assumes her new position as President of Voices for Illinois Children a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to serve as an independent, non-partisan advocate for responsible public investments and policies that give Illinois' children and families the resources they need to live healthy, stable lives; and

 

WHEREAS, prior to beginning her career in government administration Ms. Green Cruzat served as Executive Director of High Jump, a non-profit organization devoted to providing enriched academic opportunities for talented, low-income middle school students; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Green Cruzat brought with her a wealth of significant government experience to the Chief of Staff position. She served as a program manager for Chicago Public Schools; Senior Management Advisor to the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget; and COO for the Illinois Department of Central Management Services, one of the largest agencies in the State of Illinois; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Green Cruzat is a proud veteran of the United States Navy. She was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Marksman Medal during her service; and  

 

WHEREAS, immediately prior to serving as Chief of Staff, Ms. Green Cruzat served as Deputy Chief of Staff where she had oversight of the County’s Bureaus of Administration, Asset Management, Economic Development, Finance, Human Resources and Technology. She also served as chairwoman of President Preckwinkle’s Green Leadership Team; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Green Cruzat boasts impressive academic credentials which include a BA degree in political Science from Brooklyn College; and MA in Education, Leadership and Administration; and an MBA from University of Notre Dame.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby extend their thanks to Tasha R. Green Cruzat for the contributions and leadership she has exhibited throughout her time as Chief of Staff and Deputy Chief of Staff; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to Tasha R. Green Cruzat as a small token of appreciation for her service to Cook County.
