HONORABLE MORGAN F. MURPHY JR, IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. was born on April 16, 1932, to Morgan F. Murphy and Anne Murphy Sr., dear bother of Mary Rita (Robert) Stump, Jane (the late Raymond) Holmes, Bernard (Virginia) Murphy, the late Reverend John Michael Murphy, and Sister Carol Ann Murphy, RSM; and
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. was the adored husband of the late Charlene Diane (Jurgensen); loving father of Morgan III, Michelle (Dan Hebert), Constance (Larry Doody), father-in-law of the Honorable Lisa Ruble Murphy; grandfather to Morgan F. Murphy, IV, Brendan P. Murphy, Riley P. Doody, Brieanne E. Hebert, and
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. attended Chicago parochial schools and later Northwestern University in 1955 and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and he received a Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul University School of Law in 1962, and
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. proudly served his county as a 1st Lieutenant of the United States Marine Corps from 1955-1957, including a one-year tour of duty in the Far East, and
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. was an administrative assistant to Clerk of the Circuit Court of Chicago from 1958-1961, and commenced practice in Chicago, and
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. was a Special Attorney for the Board of Election Commissioners, for the 1964 at-large elections, and
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. was an attorney for the Chicago Dairyman's Association during the 1968 milk strikes, and a trustee-management representative of the Milk Wagon Drivers Union, and
WHEREAS, Morgan F. Murphy Jr. as a member of the United States House of Representatives from 1970-1980, were he served on the Rules Committee, Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Select Committee on Narcotics and Drug Abuse Control, Foreign Affairs, and as Chairman of the Subcommittee on Legislation, and,
