HONORING THE LIFE OF ADRIENNE ARCHIA

 

WHEREAS, veteran banker and public servant Ardrienne Archia passed away on December 29, 2015;

 

WHEREAS, Adrienne was known for her lively personality and kind smile which left an impression on everyone she encountered; and

 

WHEREAS, Adrienne was a Milwaukee native and attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia; and

 

WHEREAS, Adrienne’s first job brought her to Chicago when she first became employed by the former First Chicago Bank; and

 

WHEREAS, Adrienne’s had a deep and highly regarded career in government and financial areas; and

 

WHEREAS, early in her career, she served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Chicago Housing Authority, as an assistant to former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and former Chicago CFO Ed Bedore; and

 

WHEREAS, most recently, Adrienne served as the Managing Director of Rice Financial Products Company; and

 

WHEREAS, Adrienne also worked for Ehlers & Associates, Blayylock Beal Van LLC, the former First Albany Capital, the former RBC Dain Rauscher and Siebert Brandford Shank & Co. LLC; and

 

WHEREAS, Adrienne was a leader and active board member of many non-profit organizations including the Civic Federation, the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence, the Openlands Project and the Government Finance Officers Association; and

 

WHEREAS, in her free time, Adrienne loved the water and was an avid swimmer and scuba diver; and

 

WHEREAS, Adrienne is survived by her husband Robert Braye and her children Natalie Braye and Cristopher Earle and her two sisters Karen Archia and Stephanie Archia; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the 5.2 million people of Cook County, does hereby celebrate the life of Adrienne Archia and expresses its condolences to her family; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and that an official copy of the same be tendered to the family of Adrienne Archia as a token of this Honorable Body’s appreciation.
