Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF COOK COUNTY SHERIFF'S POLICE OFFICER JASON GALLEROO WHEREAS, Members of Cook County Board and the Cook County Sheriff were deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of Sheriff's Police Officer Jason Gallero, (Star #684), who passed away in the line of duty on Thursday, September 15th, 2016, after an exemplary 22-year career with the Cook County Sheriff's Office; and WHEREAS, Officer Gallero was the devoted father to his daughter Alyssa Gallero, a cherished son to Asteria Gallero, and beloved by his sister, Marjorie Gallero, his brother, Sean Michael Gallero, his sister-in-law, Petra Bachmaier, and adored by countless other family members, friends, and fellow officers; andWHEREAS, Officer Gallero joined the Cook County Sheriff's Office as a Correctional Officer in 1994, where he served dutifully until becoming a member of the Sheriff's Police Department in 2002; and WHEREAS, due to his professionalism and work ethic, O...

HONORING THE LIFE AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF COOK COUNTY SHERIFF'S POLICE OFFICER JASON GALLEROO


WHEREAS, Members of Cook County Board and the Cook County Sheriff were deeply saddened to hear of the untimely death of Sheriff's Police Officer Jason Gallero, (Star #684), who passed away in the line of duty on Thursday, September 15th, 2016, after an exemplary 22-year career with the Cook County Sheriff's Office; and

WHEREAS, Officer Gallero was the devoted father to his daughter Alyssa Gallero, a cherished son to Asteria Gallero, and beloved by his sister, Marjorie Gallero, his brother, Sean Michael Gallero, his sister-in-law, Petra Bachmaier, and adored by countless other family members, friends, and fellow officers; andWHEREAS, Officer Gallero joined the Cook County Sheriff's Office as a Correctional Officer in 1994, where he served dutifully until becoming a member of the Sheriff's Police Department in 2002; and
WHEREAS, due to his professionalism and work ethic, Officer Gallero was selected for an assignment at the Cook County Sheriff's Training Academy, to train recruits from agencies throughout Cook County; and
WHEREAS, Officer Gallero proved to be a distinguished instructor for the Training Academy, and was well-respected by hundreds of cadets from the Sheriff's Office and agencies across Cook County who were trained to be law enforcement officers during his tenure; and
WHEREAS, due to dedication to public safety, Officer Gallero joined the elite Hostage and Barricade Team of the Sheriff's Police Department in 2015, and provided critical, specialized support to law enforcement agencies throughout Cook County when dangerous and challenging scenarios arise involving individuals and victims in crisis;
WHEREAS, Officer Gallero was beloved and admired by his colleagues throughout the Sheriff's Office and by members of the law enforcement community, and his service to Cook County will have a lasting impact for years to come; and
