PROPOSED RESOLUTION
DANIEL MORIARITY, IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom has called Daniel Moriarty from our midst; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty was the dear husband of Kaye (nee Weaver) for 45 wonderful years; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty was the loving father of Kara (Michael) Patterson, Erin Moriarty and Bridget (Chris) Kane; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty was the proud grandfather of Joseph Blatz, Mary Claire, Caitriona and Stephen Patterson and Colleen and Emily Kane; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty was the fond brother of Reverend Barry Moriarty CM, and sisters Sr. Rita Moriarty CSJ, Sharon (Doug) Waite, Terry, Mary Beth (Stan) Sorrels and the late Carol (Ted) Sweeney; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty was the loving uncle of many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty was born in Chicago on December 17, 1938 and served in the Chicago Fire Department for 35 years, retiring as a Director in 2004; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty was a well-known and beloved resident of Grand Beach, Michigan where he resided after his retirement; and
WHEREAS, Daniel Moriarty, touched the lives of many and will be remembered by all who knew him; and
WHEREAS, all who knew him will attest that Daniel Moriarty, was a kind and compassionate man, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by his many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by his family and his neighbors; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family of Daniel Moriarty and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to the family of Daniel Moriarty, so that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
