PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING HARRY J. KLEIN ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AS MAYOR OF THE CITY OF BURBANK
WHEREAS, The Honorable Harry J. Klein, Mayor of the City of Burbank, will retire this April after 40 years of admirable and exemplary service to the citizens of Burbank; and
WHEREAS, Harry J. Klein was first appointed Mayor of Burbank in 1991 and was then elected to six consecutive four years terms beginning in 1993; and
WHEREAS, Harry J. Klein served as Treasurer to the City of Burbank for 14 years prior to his service as Mayor; and
WHEREAS, the City of Burbank, a 4.17 square mile community first incorporated in 1970, has benefited immeasurably from the steady and capable stewardship of Mayor Harry J. Klein; and
WHEREAS, the City of Burbank today is a thriving and diverse community in large part due to decades of thoughtful decisions and prudent management that have been the hallmarks of the tenure of Mayor Harry J. Klein and his able team of administrators, and
WHEREAS, throughout his career, Harry J. Klein has faithfully served the people of the City of Burbank with dedication and a commitment to public service that exemplifies the finest qualities of civic leadership, and
WHEREAS, Mayor Harry J. Klein has proven above all that his first priority is the quality of life for the residents of the City of Burbank, who know their community is an outstanding place to live, work, and raise a family, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its congratulations to Harry J. Klein on his retirement and thank him for his four decades of service to the City of Burbank, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of same be tendered by the Commissioners of Cook County to Harry J. Klein so that his remarkable achievements on behalf of the citizens of the City of Burbank be duly recognized.
