Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING MAYOR SHERMAN JONES WHEREAS, Sherman Jones was elected Mayor of the Village of Broadview in 2009 and was re-elected in 2013; and WHEREAS, Mayor Jones stepped down from his position in April 2017; and WHEREAS, during his tenure, the Village of Broadview has experienced many successes; and WHEREAS, Mayor Jones led the Village through a major budget overhaul and eliminated deficits of nearly $4 million; and WHEREAS, under his leadership, the Village pursued innovative financial opportunities to cover much of the cost of a new fire truck and ambulance; and WHEREAS, many of the Village's departments were overhauled to be more efficient and cost taxpayers less money; and WHEREAS, Mayor Jones launched the initiative to resurface 13th Avenue, which for many years went without maintenance and was a problem for the people of Broadview; and WHEREAS, Mayor Jones has worked tirelessly for the people of Broadview and has benefitted all of Cook County through his...

HONORING MAYOR SHERMAN JONES

 

WHEREAS, Sherman Jones was elected Mayor of the Village of Broadview in 2009 and was re-elected in 2013; and

 

WHEREAS, Mayor Jones stepped down from his position in April 2017; and

 

WHEREAS, during his tenure, the Village of Broadview has experienced many successes; and

 

WHEREAS, Mayor Jones led the Village through a major budget overhaul and eliminated deficits of nearly $4 million; and
