Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION RESOLUTION HONORING CAROL A. TESCHKY WHEREAS, Carol A. Teschky has retired from the office of Maine Township Supervisor after 10 years in office and 28 years of public service on the Maine Township Board where she performed her responsibilities tirelessly and with the highest level of professionalism and integrity for her Maine Township constituents, a constituency that holds the distinction as Cook County's largest unincorporated population with over 25,000 residents; and WHEREAS, Carol was first elected to the Maine Township Board as a Trustee in 1989, a position she held for 18 years before her appointment to Township Supervisor in 2007 where she served until May 2017; and WHEREAS, as Supervisor, Carol was charged with directing an administration responsible for administering numerous township services and programs such as General Assistance, MaineStay Youth & Family Services, Emergency Management, Code Enforcement, MaineStreamers Seniors and many other funct...

RESOLUTION HONORING CAROL A. TESCHKY

WHEREAS, Carol A. Teschky has retired from the office of Maine Township Supervisor after 10 years in office and 28 years of public service on the Maine Township Board where she performed her responsibilities tirelessly and with the highest level of professionalism and integrity for her Maine Township constituents, a constituency that holds the distinction as Cook County's largest unincorporated population with over 25,000 residents; and

WHEREAS, Carol was first elected to the Maine Township Board as a Trustee in 1989, a position she held for 18 years before her appointment to Township Supervisor in 2007 where she served until May 2017; and

WHEREAS, as Supervisor, Carol was charged with directing an administration responsible for administering numerous township services and programs such as General Assistance, MaineStay Youth & Family Services, Emergency Management, Code Enforcement, MaineStreamers Seniors and many other functions of Maine Township government; and

WHEREAS, Carol's record of fiscal responsibility saw the Maine Township budget balanced every year, a reduction in the tax levy and no debt on the books during her 10 years of board leadership as Supervisor; and

WHEREAS, Carol's leadership efforts as Supervisor was recognized numerous times which included recognition in 2011 by the Township Officials of Illinois with the Township Friend of Senior Citizens Award and the Township Friend of Youth Award as well as the Community Star Award for Government in 2012 by the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, during her service on the township board, Carol was instrumental in the township's creation of a Gang Task Force which was formed in response to a sudden, rising juvenile crime rate in the early 1990's that created a zero-tolerance policy for gangs trying to recruit in Maine Township; and
