PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING MARY PAT PALUMBO ON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AS A TEACHER AT NATIVITY OF OUR LORD/BRIDGEPORT CATHOLIC ACADEMY
WHEREAS, it has come to the attention of the Cook County Board of Commissioners that Mary Pat Palumbo is retiring after 47 years as a teacher at Nativity of Our Lord/Bridgeport Catholic Academy; and
WHEREAS, Mary Pat Palumbo was born and raised in Chicago's Bridgeport community and has been a lifelong member of Nativity of Our Lord parish; and
WHEREAS, Mary Pat Palumbo received her B.A. in History from the University of St. Francis; and
WHEREAS, Mary Pat Palumbo began her career teaching intermediate and junior high grades at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic School; and
WHEREAS, Mary Pat Palumbo also served as a CCD religious instructor at Nativity of Our Lord parish; and
WHEREAS, Mary Pat Palumbo has served in various administrative roles to assist in the education of students at Bridgeport Catholic Academy including: Assistant Principal, Junior High Coordinator, Eucharistic Minister and Curriculum Evaluator; and
WHEREAS, Mary Pat Palumbo has helped prepare students for some of the most important moments in their lives including receiving their holy sacraments and preparing for graduation; and
WHEREAS, Mary Pat Palumbo has been instrumental in educating so may young students over her 47 years as teacher; and
WHEREAS, the hard work and dedication of Mary Pat Palumbo as a teacher and mentor has helped numerous students become successful members of our community, city and county; therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby extend its warmest wishes and congratulations to Mary Pat Palumbo on the occasion of her retirement and join all who have had the pleasure of her friendship in wishing her still more years of good health and richly deserved happiness, and
