PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE 70TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF MARK WHITE POST #6870 OF THE VETERANS OF FOREIGN WARS
WHEREAS, the citizens of Chicago's Bridgeport community, in recognition of the need for a neighborhood-centered facility to provide for the social and supportive requirements of local veterans, founded and established the Mark White Post #6870 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and
WHEREAS, in its early days, the Post was known for its great camaraderie, and welcoming environment where members of all generations could gather in fellowship, and
WHEREAS, today Mark White Post #6870 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is a vibrant organization, looked upon as a widely-respected community asset, and beneficiaries of its charitable support include many families in need throughout the community, and
WHEREAS, throughout its proud history, the Post has held among its ranks numerous community leaders that have been active in improving the lives of veterans and also the lives of residents in the Bridgeport community, and
WHEREAS, Mark White Post #6870 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars is proud of its many friends and members who have served our country in the armed forces, with members having fought in World War I, World War II, Korea, Viet Nam, the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan, and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, June 17, 2017, the Mark White Post #6870 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars will host a celebration at the Post on 3152 S. Wallace in Chicago to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the establishment of the Post, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County, that the Board does hereby extend its congratulations to all the members, past and present, of the Mark White Post #6870 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, for 70 years of outstanding service to the community, and offers its best wishes for continued success, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable B...
