PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING PATRICK L. KREIS ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE WINNETKA POLICE DEPARTMENT
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis retired from the Winnetka Police Department on June 06, 2017 after over twenty-six years as a law enforcement officer; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis began his career as a law enforcement officer with the Winnetka Police Department on January 02, 1991; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis was promoted to the rank of Sergeant on December 08, 1994; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis attended and graduated from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command on September 25, 1995; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis was awarded Police Officer of the Year for 1996; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis attended and graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy on March 18, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on April 20, 2005; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief on August 11, 2006; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis was appointed Interim Chief of Police on January 31, 2011; and
WHEREAS, Patrick L. Kreis was appointed Chief of Police on July 07, 2011; and
WHEREAS, during his career, Patrick L. Kreis served as an operator, team leader and board member of the Northern Illinois Police Alarm System Emergency Services Team, board president of the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy, Co-Manager of the department's Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Use of Force and Critical Incident Response Instructor, Master Firearms Instructor, coordinated the renovation of the Winnetka Police Public Safety Building, and was recognized by his superiors and the citizens he served, receiving numerous Honorable Mentions and letters of appreciation from citizens; and
