HULSEMAN CENTER FOR CANCER CARE WHEREAS Presence Saint Francis Hospital is a nationally recognized, full-service teaching hospital and named one of Chicago's Best Hospitals; and WHEREAS, the Keystone Founders Society of Presence Saint Francis Hospital is comprised of donors who support the hospital with annual gifts of $1,000 or more. Since 1988 the Keystone Founders Society has contributed more than 3.4 million dollars. Past projects include breast screenings for low-income women, providing an oncology nurse navigator to shepherd patients throughout their cancer journey and dedicating a sleeping room for family members with a critically ill patient; and WHEREAS in April of 2017, the Presence Saint Francis Hospital Keystone Founders Society reached their goal of fundraising $500,000 to fund improvements to the hospi...

HONORING THE KEYSTONE FOUNDERS SOCIETY OF PRESENCE SAINT FRANCIS HOSPITAL ON REACHING THEIR GOAL TO RAISE FUNDS FOR THE SHEILA M. AND ROBERT L. HULSEMAN CENTER FOR CANCER CARE

WHEREAS Presence Saint Francis Hospital is a nationally recognized, full-service teaching hospital and named one of Chicago's Best Hospitals; and

WHEREAS, the Keystone Founders Society of Presence Saint Francis Hospital is comprised of donors who support the hospital with annual gifts of $1,000 or more. Since 1988 the Keystone Founders Society has contributed more than 3.4 million dollars. Past projects include breast screenings for low-income women, providing an oncology nurse navigator to shepherd patients throughout their cancer journey and dedicating a sleeping room for family members with a critically ill patient; and

WHEREAS in April of 2017, the Presence Saint Francis Hospital Keystone Founders Society reached their goal of fundraising $500,000 to fund improvements to the hospital's cancer center. With help from an anonymous $250,000 matching challenge, the Keystone Founders reached their goal nine months ahead of schedule; and

WHEREAS Presence Saint Francis Hospital Center for Cancer Care will be named in memory of Sheila and Bob Hulseman, in recognition of the Hulseman's tireless devotion to Saint Francis Hospital. The Hulseman's are among the hospital's most significant supporters over the past forty years. Their generosity has touched nearly every corner of the hospital. Their gift in 1996 enabled the hospital to purchase its first linear accelerator to treat patients with cancer, which transformed cancer care in Evanston; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Cook County, on behalf of the 5.2 million residents of Cook County takes great pleasure in honoring and celebrating Presence Saint Francis Hospital reaching their fundraising goal to transform cancer care in Evanston and herewith honors the progress...
