Williams became a Motorcycle Officer in 2007; and WHEREAS, Michael E. PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

HONORING MICHAEL E. WILLIAMS ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE WINNETKA POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

WHEREAS, Michael E. Williams retired from the Winnetka Police Department on September 15, 2017 after twenty years as a law enforcement officer; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael E. Williams began his career as a law enforcement officer with the Winnetka Police Department on September 08, 1997; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael E. Williams became a Firearms Instructor in 1999 and subsequently a Master Firearms Instructor in 2006; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael E. Williams completed crash investigation courses at the Northwestern University Center for Public Safety in 2005; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael E. Williams became a Motorcycle Officer in 2007; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael E. Williams served as an investigator on the North Regional Major Crash Assistance Team from 2008 until 2014; and

 

WHEREAS, during his career, Michael E. Williams served as a Field Training Officer for new recruits, provided use of force and firearms training to dozens of officers over the course of his career and was recognized by his superiors and the citizens he served, receiving numerous Honorable Mentions and letters of appreciation from citizens; and

 

WHEREAS, Michael E. Williams served his department and community with distinction, and the people of Cook County owe him a debt of gratitude for his service.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners of Cook County does hereby offer Michael E. Williams congratulations on his retirement and thanks him for his years of public service as a law enforcement officer; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and that an official copy of same be tendered to Michael E. Williams.
