Summary: The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully requests approval of the Proposed Completion of Construction Approval Resolution for the Cook County Fleet Diesel Retrofit Project.
The purpose of the improvement consisted of the retrofitting and installed diesel emission reduction technology on various diesel-powered vehicles owned and operated by Cook County Highway Department (23 trucks) and Cook County Forest Preserve District (20 trucks) in compliance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency which includes Diesel Oxidation Catalyst DOC), Closed Crankcase Ventilation System (CCV), Electric Active Diesel Particulate Filters (EADPF), Replaced Particulate Filters, Off Board Regeneration Control Panel, trained on the operation of the Control Panel and other necessary appurtenances to complete the project. This work was coordinated and conducted by the Cook County Environmental Control on behalf of the Cook County Department of Transportation and Highways and the Cook County Forest Preserve District.
