Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING MASONIC TEMPLE PRINCE HALL WHEREAS, Prince Hall Freemasonry is the oldest, continually-active, African-American fraternal organization within the State of Illinois and has made significant contributions to the African-American community and to the residents of Cook County; and WHEREAS, the fraternity, named after Prince Hall, an African-American abolitionist, is dedicated to making good men better through service to mankind and are celebrating the 300 year anniversary of the establishment of Freemasonry in England; and WHEREAS, Masonic Temple Prince Hall has fought for the abolition of slavery and justice for all citizens beginning with its founder, Prince Hall, 150 years ago; and WHEREAS, Masonic Temple Prince Hall has a tradition of feeding the needy during Thanksgiving season; and WHEREAS, on Thursday, November 24, 2017, 4th Ward Alderman Sophia King will join Masonic Temple Prince Hall in celebrating 20,000 meals served over 50 years. HONORING MASONIC TEMPLE PRINCE HALL

 

WHEREAS, Prince Hall Freemasonry is the oldest, continually-active, African-American fraternal organization within the State of Illinois and has made significant contributions to the African-American community and to the residents of Cook County; and

 

WHEREAS, the fraternity, named after Prince Hall, an African-American abolitionist, is dedicated to making good men better through service to mankind and are celebrating the 300 year anniversary of the establishment of Freemasonry in England; and

 

WHEREAS, Masonic Temple Prince Hall has fought for the abolition of slavery and justice for all citizens beginning with its founder, Prince Hall, 150 years ago; and
