PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING PAMELA SMITH
WHEREAS, Pam, as she prefers to be called, is committed to issues that impact her family and community and has demonstrated this commitment by volunteering with the Bleeding Disorders Alliance of Illinois (BDAI) for the past 24 years and by serving on the BDAI Board of Directors for two terms, BDAI supports families affected by inherited bleeding disorders such as Hemophilia and von Willebrand disease by providing its members with the unbiased medical information and resources that allow them to live a healthy and active lifestyleand; and
WHEREAS, Pam, is most proud of being the mother of her 29 year old son Brandon Downey who lives and is studying in California; and
WHEREAS, Pam has spent thirty three years working in Cook County Government, with all of these years spent at the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office under five separate Chief Medical Examiner’s including Dr. Robert J. Stein, Dr. Edmund R. Donoghue, Dr. Nancy L. Jones, Dr. Stephen J. Cina and now with Dr. Ponni Arunkumar; and
WHEREAS, after 33 years of employment with the County of Cook, Pam has decided to retire on December 15, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Members of the Board of Commissioners, on behalf of more than 5.2 million residents of Cook County, do hereby congratulate Pamela Smith on her retirement.
