WHEREAS, Mark Suppelsa was born in Milwaukee, WI, grew up in Chicago, graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee and has worked as a broadcast journalist for over 33 years, and;

WHEREAS, Mark has served on the reporting team at WGN-TV since July 2008 and is the co-anchor of the WGN Evening News at Five and Six and WGN News at Nine and Ten, and;

WHEREAS, Mark previously served as a co-anchor at Fox News at Nine and more than 10 years as the primary anchor and reporter for WMAQ-TV, and;

WHEREAS, Mark covered President Ronald Reagan's state funeral, President Barack Obama's historic 2008 Inauguration and has interviewed four United States Presidents, and;

WHEREAS, Mark has toured one of the country's largest assault weapons manufacturer, investigated airport security policy and interviewed a cadre of highly recognized individuals from boxing promoter Don King to former presidential candidate Bob Dole, and;

WHEREAS, Mark has made an incredible impact as a journalist here in Cook County and internationally, and has crafted a distinguished record of leadership as a respected broadcast journalist.
