PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING SAMUEL LOVE
WHEREAS, at the age of nine, Samuel Love started a toy drive for kids who were affected by natural disasters, poverty and sickness; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Love, also known as Santa Claus, delivered more than 7,300 toys last year, bringing joy to children during tough times; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Love provided toys to kids in Robbins, Illinois, Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital and other community service centers from Englewood to South Carolina; and
WHEREAS, through the Breaking Bread program, Samuel Love and his family, parents and concerned citizens in their communities, are addressing the issues of food, shelter and clothing for foster kids who are under the care of the Illinois Department of Family Services; and
WHEREAS, Samuel Love continues to learn from the children he has helped and remains a positive force for his community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, recognize Samuel Love for his essential contribution to the health and viability of Cook County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and an official copy of same be presented to Samuel Love.
