PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING MISERICORDIA AND THE HEARTZINGERS
WHEREAS, Misericordia is a center and home for over 600 residents with disabilities located in Rogers Park; and
WHEREAS, the Heartzingers are a choral ensemble of residents of Misericordia; and
WHEREAS, with the help of volunteers Bob and Madge Erlenbaugh, who began their work in 2006, Heartzingers is composed of almost fifty singers and signers; and
WHEREAS, the Heartzingers have been serving at countless Chicago and Cook County functions and at Misericordia’s campus; and
WHEREAS, the Heartzingers have sung the National Anthem for the Cubs and White Sox, and performed with James Taylor, Paul Simon and most recently with Miguel Cervantes from the production of Hamilton; and
WHEREAS, most recently, this highly talented singing group performed holiday caroling for the Cook County Tree Lighting Ceremony with President Preckwinkle; and
WHEREAS, the Heartzingers believe in the motto: Everything the choir sings or signs must be true, kind and necessary; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, recognize Misericordia and the Heartzingers for its essential contribution to the health and viability of Cook County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and an official copy of same be presented to Misericordia and the Heartzingers.
