PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING NEW FAITH BAPTIST CHURCH INTERNATIONAL AND CHI LAMBDA LAMBDA CHAPTER OF THE OMEGA PSI PHI FRATERNITY FOR THE ANGEL TREE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, founded in 1992, the Angel Tree program connects parents in prison with their children through the delivery of Christmas gifts; and
WHEREAS, New Faith Baptist Church of Matteson, Illinois has been a part of Angel Tree since 1998; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Trunell D. Felder, Senior Pastor, New Faith Baptist Church has given more than 57,000 gifts to Angel Tree; and
WHEREAS, the Chi Lambda Lambda Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. has partnered with New Faith Baptist Church and the Angel Tree program for almost ten years; and
WHEREAS, Chapter members deliver gifts throughout Chicago and Cook County to the children of persons currently incarcerated; and
WHEREAS, this year, New Faith Baptist Church International and Chi Lambda Lambda Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, look forward to delivering gifts to more than 400 families this Christmas season; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, recognize New Faith Baptist Church International and Chi Lambda Lambda Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity for its essential contribution to the health and viability of Cook County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and an official copy of same be presented to New Faith Baptist Church International and Chi Lambda Lambda Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.
