PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING ASIAN HUMAN SERVICES
WHEREAS, Asian Human Services is a non-profit organization that began in 1978 helping South East Asian refugees; and
WHEREAS, throughout the years, the organization has retained a single purpose: to positively transform lives among Chicago’s immigrants, refugees, and other underserved communities; and
WHEREAS, Asian Human Services serves tens of thousands of people each year from 55 different countries and provides services in 30 different languages; and
WHEREAS, Asian Human Services provides client-centered, quality and compassionate services to Asian immigrants and all other underserved communities so that they can fully participate in society, prosper and thrive; and
WHEREAS, Asian Human Services provides services in the fields of education, healthcare and workforce development; and
WHEREAS, the organization’s education programs benefit all ages in the community - from pre-school age children to adults hoping to improve their skills to better provide for their families; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, recognizes the importance of Asian Human Services and their essential contribution to the health and viability of Cook County; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceeding of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to Asian Human Services.
