Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING THE MEXICAN FOLKLORIC DANCE COMPANY OF CHICAGO ON ITS 36TH ANNIVERSARY WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago was founded February 17, 1982, and incorporated on March 28, 1983; and WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago will be celebrating its 36th Anniversary at the Studebaker Theatre in Chicago, IL on May 11th, 2018 doing what it loves to do: performing the inspirational and rich folkloric dances of Mexico; and WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago, through its authentic dance performances has been successful in its efforts to educate the public in its vast dance repertoire and in preserving this heritage among the Mexican progeny; and WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago has toured nationally and internationally; and WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago has had the honor of performing for President Reagan's 1985 visit to Chicago Heights, the 1987 Pan Am...

CONGRATULATING THE MEXICAN FOLKLORIC DANCE COMPANY OF CHICAGO ON ITS 36TH ANNIVERSARY

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago was founded February 17, 1982, and incorporated on March 28, 1983; and

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago will be celebrating its 36th Anniversary at the Studebaker Theatre in Chicago, IL on May 11th, 2018 doing what it loves to do: performing the inspirational and rich folkloric dances of Mexico; and

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago, through its authentic dance performances has been successful in its efforts to educate the public in its vast dance repertoire and in preserving this heritage among the Mexican progeny; and

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago has toured nationally and internationally; and

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago has had the honor of performing for President Reagan's 1985 visit to Chicago Heights, the 1987 Pan Am Games before Vice-President Bush, President Bill Clinton, Mexican President Vicente Fox, Governor Thompson, and Mayors Daley and Washington; and

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago has also had the honor of performing at major sports events and for iconic cultural figures such at the 1994 World Cup, Chicago Bulls, Bob McGrath of Sesame Street, and singers Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorm?; and

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago has received 296 awards, grants, and honors since 1983; and

WHEREAS, the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago continue to be a source of pride that beautifully preserves Mexican culture in Chicago.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, The Cook County Board President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby congratulate the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago on its 36th Anniversary; and
