Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION RESOLUTION HONORING AND CONGRATULATING THE STATE OF ISRAEL ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR SEVENTIETH 70th ANNIVERSARY WHEREAS, on May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency declared the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz-Israel, to be known as the State of Israel, and; WHEREAS, Israeli leaders have not flinched in the face of adversity, but have continued to diplomatically pursue liberty, justice and peace for their people, and; WHEREAS, this year's celebration of Yom Ha'atzmaut is marked by Israel's continued rise as a global leader in science, technology, electronics, education, medicine, culture and arts, and; WHEREAS, this seventieth year of Israeli independence is a testament to the Jewish peoples will to promote the tenets of freedom and democracy across the globe, and; WHEREAS, we are honored to have one of Israel's U.S. Consulate General Offices located here in Cook County, and; WHEREAS, we look forward to working with Consul ...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

RESOLUTION HONORING AND CONGRATULATING THE STATE OF ISRAEL ON THE OCCASION OF THEIR SEVENTIETH 70th ANNIVERSARY

 

WHEREAS, on May 14, 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the head of the Jewish Agency declared the establishment of a Jewish state in Eretz-Israel, to be known as the State of Israel, and; 

 

WHEREAS, Israeli leaders have not flinched in the face of adversity, but have continued to diplomatically pursue liberty, justice and peace for their people, and;

 

WHEREAS, this year’s celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut is marked by Israel’s continued rise as a global leader in science, technology, electronics, education, medicine, culture and arts, and;

 

WHEREAS, this seventieth year of Israeli independence is a testament to the Jewish peoples will to promote the tenets of freedom and democracy across the globe, and;

 

WHEREAS, we are honored to have one of Israel’s U.S. Consulate General Offices located here in Cook County, and;

 

WHEREAS, we look forward to working with Consul General Aviv Ezra to strengthen the business and cultural relationships between the people of Cook County and Israel, and; 

 

WHEREAS, Israel continues to be a committed partner in democracy to the United States as we promote the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness for all people.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Cook County Board of Commissioners that Israel is honored and recognized for their global leadership and their friendship to the people of Cook County on the occasion of their 70th anniversary.
