Summary: This increase and second of three (3), one (1) year renewal options will enable the Department of Transportation and Highways, Cook County Sheriff’s Office, the Department of Facilities Management, and County Clerk to receive rental options to support a shortage of industrial equipment and an aging fleet.
This contract was awarded as a Comparable Government Procurement pursuant to Section 31-140 of the Cook County Procurement Code. Herc Rentals, Inc. was previously awarded a contract through a Request for Proposals (RFP) process through U.S. Communities, a national government purchasing cooperative sponsored by the National Association of Counties (NaCo) and the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP), and in cooperation with North Carolina State University.
