PROPOSED RESOLUTION
JOHN P GLUNZ, IN MEMORIAM
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom has called John P. Glunz from our midst; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was the beloved husband of the late Patricia (nee Haskins); and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was the proud father of Judi (Allan) Sidney, John Glunz Jr, Janet (Barry) Bischoff, Jim (Sally) Glunz, Jerry (Christel) Glunz, Jennifer (Glenn) Faulk and Jane (Mike) Delaney, Dobby and Kibby; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was the beloved son of the late Louis II and Clare nee Stubing Glunz; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was the proud grandfather of JP (Kate), Brendan and Connor Glunz, Ryan, Cailtin and Melissa Bischoff, Tia and Jesse Glunz, Hailey, Mitch and Jennifer Delaney; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was the loving great-grandfather of Lilly Glunz; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was the dear brother of Louis (late Jean) Glunz, Patricia (late William) Spencer, Barbara Glunz Donovan and Joseph (Helen) Glunz; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was the proud uncle to many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz graduated from Loras College in 1957 and went on to receive the first ever business degree issued at the Francis J. Noonan School of business at Loras College; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz learned the family beer distribution business working alongside his father Louis Glunz II in Lincolnwood and took over the beer division of Louis Glunz Beer Inc. in the late 1960’s; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was an active member of the Chicago business community and received numerous awards for his leadership and generosity; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz was an active member of Chicago’s German American Community; and
WHEREAS, John P. Glunz served as President on the Board of Directors of both the Associated Beer Distributors of Illinois and the Chicago Beer Wholesalers Association and on the Advisory Council of the Stroh Brewing Company and the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company; and
WHEREAS all who knew him will attest that John P. Glunz was a kind and compassionate man, virtuous of character and gentle in spirit, admired and respected by his many friends and neighbors, and dearly loved by his family, now therefore
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby offer its deepest condolences and most heartfelt sympathy to the family of John P. Glunz and joins them in sorrow at this time of loss; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of the same be tendered to the family of John P. Glunz so that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
