PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING GUS REDMOND
WHEREAS, Gus Redmond, a renowned business manager, songwriter and event talent producer, is the Vice-President of Music Quest Communications LLC; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Redmond has exhibited outstanding leadership and organizational skills in the fields of marketing, public relations and promotional activities; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Redmond has spent over the last fifty years working with the notable talent within the recording industry; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Redmond assisted in the success of more than 500 hit songs working with Carl Davis (Brunswick/CHI- SOUND Records), Al Bell (Staxx Records), John Hammond (Hammond Music), Ray Harris (AVI Records), Billy Ray Heard (Sparrow Records), Don Cornelius (Soul Train Records), Marshall Thompson (McRance Records) and dozens of other distributors, promoters and producers; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Redmond has also been involved in breaking new superstars around the U.S.A. for the last 50 years through an after-school program; and
WHEREAS, in 2000, Mr. Redmond began working with Marianne Eggleston, Dunn Pearson, Jr. and Donald Kasen, CEO at Peter Pan Industries (PPI Entertainment), to build an independent audio and video distribution company whose products reached multi-millions of dollars in sales; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Redmond also ventured in the creative side of the record business by co-writing such hits as "The Sly, Slick and the Wicked" by the Lost Generation and "Mellow Mellow Right On" by Lowell Simon, which was the source for numerous hit rap songs and samples including Chicago rapper, Common's "Remind me of Self"; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Redmond currently oversees Music Quest's national sales, marketing, and public relations, as well as develops strategies for new business partnerships and affiliate programs to increase and expose the Music Quest brand worldwide; and
