PROPOSED RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION COMMEMORATING SMALL BUSINESS WEEK
WHEREAS, National Small Business Week took place from April 29th to May 5th, 2018; and
WHEREAS, led by the U.S. Small Business Administration, Small Business Week recognizes outstanding small business owners and entrepreneurs throughout the country; and
WHEREAS, according to the SBA, more than half of Americans own or work for a small business, and entrepreneurs help to create two out of every three jobs in the United States every year; and
WHEREAS, the number of small business throughout the country has continued to rise since the first Small Business Week in 1963; and
WHEREAS, events are held across the country connecting small business owners and entrepreneurs together to learn more about what it takes to grow their businesses and be successful; and
WHEREAS, throughout Cook County small businesses continue to be the backbone of our economy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby put forth this resolution commemorating National Small Business week, and honor all of the small businesses and entrepreneurs throughout the county.
