Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION CELEBRATING THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF OZINGA WHEREAS, Ozinga is currently celebrating their 90th Anniversary, a remarkable milestone for a Cook County, American-owned business; and WHEREAS, Ozinga is based in Cook County and Chicago's Chinatown Neighborhood, originally established in Evergreen Park, Illinois in 1928 by Martin Ozinga Sr.; and WHEREAS, Ozinga first started off as a small coal and coke yard and survived the Great Depression and World War II before becoming one of the first ready mix providers in the region; and WHEREAS, for four generations, Ozinga has continued to expand its products and build its reputation as a strategic partner by providing concrete, bulk materials, and energy solutions while offering transportation services through an extensive network of truck, rail, barge, and ship terminals; and WHEREAS, Ozinga is widely recognized for its red and white striped concrete mixer trucks, which can be seen at various construction sites throu...

CELEBRATING THE 90TH ANNIVERSARY OF OZINGA                     

 

WHEREAS, Ozinga is currently celebrating their 90th Anniversary, a remarkable milestone for a Cook County, American-owned business; and

 

WHEREAS, Ozinga is based in Cook County and Chicago’s Chinatown Neighborhood, originally established in Evergreen Park, Illinois in 1928 by Martin Ozinga Sr.; and

 

WHEREAS, Ozinga first started off as a small coal and coke yard and survived the Great Depression and World War II before becoming one of the first ready mix providers in the region; and

 

WHEREAS, for four generations, Ozinga has continued to expand its products and build its reputation as a strategic partner by providing concrete, bulk materials, and energy solutions while offering transportation services through an extensive network of truck, rail, barge, and ship terminals; and

 

WHEREAS, Ozinga is widely recognized for its red and white striped concrete mixer trucks, which can be seen at various construction sites throughout Cook County and five other states; and

 

WHEREAS, Ozinga now employs more than 1,500 employees with locations in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, and South Florida; and

 

WHEREAS, Ozinga has numerous locations throughout Cook County, with two yard locations in the 16th District, one in Summit, Illinois and the other in McCook, Illinois; and

 

WHEREAS, Ozinga has a legacy of serving the areas where we live, work and play with the Ozinga Foundation; working together to build our families, our communities and our country; and

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby express our gratitude and congratulations to Ozinga in Celebration of its 90th Anniversary and extend our very best wishes for the future; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Ozinga to demonstrate the County’s support for their continued success.
