DOROTHY CLARK-SMITH ON THE OCCASION OF HER 70TH BIRTHDAY WHEREAS, Ms. Dorothy Clark-Smith was born August 2, 1948 in Canalou, Missouri, and WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith has lived a life of hard work from picking cotton and soy beans to working as an educator, and WHEREAS, fifty years ago, Ms. Clark-Smith was married and she raised three children and now enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren, and WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith is a dedicated member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, where she founded the Youth ministry, is a member of the Adult Choir, directs the Sunday School Choir, and was Secretary and President of the Ladies Guild, and WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith graduated from Northeastern University with her Bachelor's Degree after spending 22 years taking care of her family and later achieved two Master's Degrees, and WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith worked more than 40 years as an educator in Proviso Township and Chicago Public Schools, and WHE...

A RESOLUTION HONORING MS. DOROTHY CLARK-SMITH ON THE OCCASION OF HER 70TH BIRTHDAY

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Dorothy Clark-Smith was born August 2, 1948 in Canalou, Missouri, and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith has lived a life of hard work from picking cotton and soy beans to working as an educator, and

 

WHEREAS, fifty years ago, Ms. Clark-Smith was married and she raised three children and now enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren, and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith is a dedicated member of Emmaus Lutheran Church, where she founded the Youth ministry, is a member of the Adult Choir, directs the Sunday School Choir, and was Secretary and President of the Ladies Guild, and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith graduated from Northeastern University with her Bachelor’s Degree after spending 22 years taking care of her family and later achieved two Master’s Degrees, and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith worked more than 40 years as an educator in Proviso Township and Chicago Public Schools, and

 

WHEREAS, for the last 13 years, Ms. Clark-Smith has served on the Bellwood Library Board and currently serves as its President, and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith also serves on the Bellwood School District’s Board of Education, currently as Secretary, and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Clark-Smith combines her passion for education and community as the Liaison for the Proviso Area for Exceptional Children’s Secretary, and

 

WHEREAS, the Village of Bellwood and all of the County’s First District have long benefited from Ms. Clark-Smith’s dedication to her community, and she is wished the happiest of birthdays.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Cook County Board of Commissioners that Ms. Clark-Smith is thanked for her service to her community and honored on the occasion of her 70th Birthday.
