Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING ELK GROVE VILLAGE FIRE CHIEF RICHARD MIKEL WHEREAS, Elk Grove Village Fire Department Richard J. Mikel was named Illinois Fire Chief of the year; and WHEREAS, Chief Mikel has been involved in the fire service for 34 years; and WHEREAS, Chief Mikel has risen through the ranks as a firefighter, paramedic, and Deputy Fire Chief of Operations with Downers Grove and the Naperville Fire Departments; and WHEREAS, Chief Mikel came to Elk Grove Village in 2012 as Fire Chief and has strengthened the Fire Department with his desire, devotion, leadership and knowledge; and WHEREAS, Chief Mikel is highly active in outreach to residents, businesses, schools and community organizations; and WHEREAS, Chief Mikel oversees a department of 94 full-time employees and 4 fire stations that provide protection for 33,000 residents and over 3,600 businesses; and WHEREAS, Chief Mikel is currently overseeing the construction of two new fire stations with the most current t...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

HONORING ELK GROVE VILLAGE FIRE CHIEF RICHARD MIKEL

 

WHEREAS, Elk Grove Village Fire Department Richard J. Mikel was named Illinois Fire Chief of the year; and

 

WHEREAS, Chief Mikel has been involved in the fire service for 34 years; and

 

WHEREAS, Chief Mikel has risen through the ranks as a firefighter, paramedic, and Deputy Fire Chief of Operations with Downers Grove and the Naperville Fire Departments; and

 

WHEREAS, Chief Mikel came to Elk Grove Village in 2012 as Fire Chief and has strengthened the Fire Department with his desire, devotion, leadership and knowledge; and

 

WHEREAS, Chief Mikel is highly active in outreach to residents, businesses, schools and community organizations; and

 

WHEREAS, Chief Mikel oversees a department of 94 full-time employees and 4 fire stations that provide protection for 33,000 residents and over 3,600 businesses; and

 

WHEREAS, Chief Mikel is currently overseeing the construction of two new fire stations with the most current technology in Elk Grove Village; and

 

WHEREAS, Chief Mikel is highly valued for his service, he believes in continuous improvement in providing for the health and safety of everyone in his community; and

 

NOW BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Commissioners of Cook County do hereby commend Elk Grove Village Fire Chief Richard Mikel for being named Illinois Fire Chief of the year; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable body and that a copy tendered over to Elk Grove Village Fire Department and Chief Richard Mikel.end
