Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING ELGIN SCHOOL DISTRICT U-46 AND DIRECTOR ELENA HILDRETH FOR THEIR WELLNESS POLICY WHEREAS, school district U-46 has a wellness policy and committee which is under the direction of Elena Hildreth, Director of Food and Nutrition Services; and WHEREAS, U-46 and Director Hildreth houses a new commissary in Elgin, Illinois; and WHEREAS, this new facility is twice the size of their former warehouse; and WHEREAS, this new Commissary has 12 workers on the front lines assembling roughly 8000 breakfasts and 13,000 lunches for students at 41 elementary schools, a few preschool programs; and WHEREAS, a team of more than 200 food service employee's, drivers, custodians and lunchroom supervisors feed students at the state of Illinois' second largest school district; and WHEREAS, while Director Hildreth orchestrates this program, she feels that with the additional storage, this new commissary can do much more such as putting out more seasonal fruits and vegetable...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

HONORING ELGIN SCHOOL DISTRICT U-46 AND DIRECTOR ELENA HILDRETH FOR THEIR WELLNESS POLICY

 

WHEREAS, school district U-46 has a wellness policy and committee which is under the direction of Elena Hildreth, Director of Food and Nutrition Services; and

 

WHEREAS, U-46 and Director Hildreth houses a new commissary in Elgin, Illinois; and

 

WHEREAS, this new facility is twice the size of their former warehouse; and

 

WHEREAS, this new Commissary has 12 workers on the front lines assembling roughly 8000 breakfasts and 13,000 lunches for students at 41 elementary schools, a few preschool programs; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Board of Commissioners of Cook County do hereby commend School District U-46 and Director Elena Hildreth for their dedication to food and nutrition services to the children of School District U-46; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable body, and that a copy tendered over to Illinois School District U-46 and Director Elena Hildreth.end
