PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING COMMISSIONER GREGG GOSLIN
WHEREAS, Commissioner Gregg Goslin (14th District) will vacate his seat on the Cook County Board of Commissioners on November 30, 2018 after 20 outstanding years of public service to the residents of Cook County; and
WHERAS, Commissioner Goslin grew up in Glenview; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Goslin graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1975; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Goslin served as Northfield Township Trustee and Collector; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Goslin served as Township Supervisor for three terms; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Goslin served as a representative in the Illinois House of Representative 89th General Assembly; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Goslin was elected to the Cook County Board of Commissioners in 1998; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Goslin championed transparency in all aspects of government via creation of oversight committees, professionalism in county operations and protection of the forest preserves by opposing sale on nor-surplus land; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Goslin served on the Audit committee, Pension committee, Tax Delinquency committee, County Criminal Justice committee, Finance committee, Health and Hospitals committee, Homeland Security and Emergency Management committee, Law Enforcement committee, Legislation and Intergovernmental Relations committee, Roads & Bridges committee, Zoning & Building committee, FPD Audit committee, FPD Capital Development committee, FPD Law Enforcement committee, FPD Legislation and Intergovernmental Relations committee, FPD Real Estate committee, FPD Recreation committee, FPD Workers’ Compensation committee, and chairman of both FPD Finance committee and Botanic Garden committee; and
WHEREAS, throughout his years of public service, Commissioner Goslin has been dedicated to the needs and values of the residents of Cook County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby extend our sincere and grateful appreciation to Commissioner Gregg Goslin for his service on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, and our best wishes to him for continued success, happiness, and good health in the years to come; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and a suitable copy of same be tendered to Commissioner Gregg Goslin.
