PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING COMMISSIONER TIMOTHY O. SCHNEIDER
WHEREAS, Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider (15th District) will vacate his seat on the Cook County Board of Commissioners on November 30, 2018 after 12 outstanding years of public service to the residents of Cook County; and
WHERAS, Commissioner Schneider grew up in Elgin, unincorporated Cook County; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Schneider attended the University of Illinois where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Schneider began his career as a public servant as a Hanover Township Trustee from 1984 to 1997; and
WHEREAS, from 1997 to 2006, Commissioner Schneider served Hanover Township Highway Commissioner where he embarked on an extensive program to improve township roads without impacting the highway commission's bottom line; and
WHEREAS, in 2006, Commissioner Schneider was elected to the Cook County Board of Commissioners for the 15th district; and
WHEREAS, the 15th district encompasses the following areas: Arlington Heights, Barrington, Barrington Hills, Bartlett, Elgin, Elk Grove Village, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mount Prospect, Rolling Meadows, Roselle, Schaumburg, South Barrington and Streamwood; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Schneider championed legislation that combats workers compensation fraud by requiring injured employees to submit to recorded interviews detailing each workplace accident; and
WHEREAS, throughout his years of public service, Commissioner Schneider has been dedicated to the needs and values of the residents of Cook County; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners do hereby extend our sincere and grateful appreciation to Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider for his service on the Cook County Board of Commissioners, and our best wishes to him for continued success, happiness, and good health in the years to come; and
