Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING RETIRING FOREST PARK MAYOR, ANTHONY CALDERONE WHEREAS, Anthony Calderone is retiring after serving the Village of Forest Park as its mayor since 1999; and WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone is a lifelong resident of and a longtime business owner in Forest Park and he and his wife, Lois raised their two sons, Augustino and Anthony Jr., in that same community; and WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone was first elected as a Forest Park Commissioner in 1991 and served in that role prior to becoming mayor; and WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone has demonstrated his passion for volunteerism and civic duty for decades, serving the Parish Council of St. Bernadine, Forest Park Little League as coach and treasurer, West Suburban Senior Services, Proviso Municipal League, West Central Municipal Conference as a member and past president, Oak Leyden Developmental Services, Kiwanis International, the Columbian Club and the Lions Club; and WHEREAS, in addition to these many organizations and his ...

HONORING RETIRING FOREST PARK MAYOR, ANTHONY CALDERONE

WHEREAS, Anthony Calderone is retiring after serving the Village of Forest Park as its mayor since 1999; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone is a lifelong resident of and a longtime business owner in Forest Park and he and his wife, Lois raised their two sons, Augustino and Anthony Jr., in that same community; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone was first elected as a Forest Park Commissioner in 1991 and served in that role prior to becoming mayor; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone has demonstrated his passion for volunteerism and civic duty for decades, serving the Parish Council of St. Bernadine, Forest Park Little League as coach and treasurer, West Suburban Senior Services, Proviso Municipal League, West Central Municipal Conference as a member and past president, Oak Leyden Developmental Services, Kiwanis International, the Columbian Club and the Lions Club; and

WHEREAS, in addition to these many organizations and his municipal responsibilities, Mayor Calderone, along with his wife and son, successfully own and operate Illinois Alarm Services. Due to his expertise and his company's excellent reputation, he is also a member of numerous alarm and security industry associations; and

WHEREAS, with his vision and under his leadership, Forest Park has thrived with a vibrant resurgence of its commercial, dining and entertainment areas along Madison Avenue, a major redevelopment of Roosevelt Road, a strong residential market with increased home values and additional enhancements to the village; and

WHEREAS, Mayor Calderone's dedication to public service has earned him several awards and acknowledgements from civic, educational and charity organizations.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby thank Anthony Calderone for his years of commitment to the residents of Forest Park and wish him and his wife, Lois many happy years spent with their family ...
