PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING REVEREND DR. E. RAYMOND CHIN RETIREMENT OF 22 YEARS IN THE MINISTRY
WHEREAS, E. Raymond Chin began his life’s journey on the Isle of Jamaica, West Indies; and
WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Chin academic achievements were obtained through the Jamaica school of Theology in Kingston, Jamaica; Anderson University and School of Theology at Anderson, Indiana; and the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In recognition of his exceptional abilities as a minister, counselor, consultant and administrator, Rev. Dr. Chin was honored by the California School of Ministry and received the Doctor of Divinity Degree; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Chin is currently the Senior Pastor of Covenant Faith Church of God (formerly, the Emerald Avenue Church of God); and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Chin has made a profound impact within the field of ministry he has successfully demonstrated exceptional proficiency in Church Management; Pre-Marital Counseling; Individual and Family Counseling; and in collective and continuing concerns of the church and church membership; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Chin has traveled extensively with ministerial commitments extending across several continents including Africa, Europe, and South America. He has accumulated an impressive record as an administrator serving with the Executive Council of the National Association of the Church of God; Executive Council and Credentials Committee of the Church of God in Western Pennsylvania; Board of Directors, East End Cooperative Ministry of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Chin served as Vice President of Church Relations, and Editor of Missions Magazine, Missionary Board Representative and Consultant at the Missionary Board of the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana; and presently a member of the Board of Trustees; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Chin is a devoted husband to Noreen Chin for 51years, father of Dr. Shaundra, Christopher and Brittney, and grandfather of Caleb and Jeremy; and
WHEREAS, Rev. Dr. Chin is a proven and respected leader with the Church of God, as well as, with various denominations; He is an anointed man of God who has humbly accepted the Great Commission; In his 22 years of service, Rev. Chin have opened the doors of the church to the community and fostered a positive relationship with the surrounding community and its leadership.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that President Toni Preckwinkle and Cook County Board of Commissioners, and on behalf of the 5.2 million residents of cook County do hereby congratulation Reverend Dr. E. Raymond Chin on his retirement and for the important and commendable service and leadership he has provided.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be spread upon the official proceeding of the Honorable body and a ceremonial copy be given to Reverend Dr. E. Raymond Chin in commemoration of this auspicious occasion.
