PROPOSED RESOLUTION
SOUTHWEST COOK COUNTY TRUCKING STUDY STATEWIDE PLANNING AND RESEARCH PROGRAM GRANT AWARD ACCEPTANCE RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the value of infrastructure improvement to economic development and job creation in Cook County has been prioritized in the County's Long Range Transportation Plan, Connecting Cook County, and the Cook County Freight Plan; and
WHEREAS, Southwest Cook County is a major industrial and logistics cluster in northeast Illinois, which imposes significant demands on the transportation network but supports regional economic activity; and
WHEREAS, Cook County applied to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) for Statewide Planning and Research Program monies and was awarded $224,000 for a planning study to study existing conditions of the transportation network, identify significant vacant or underutilized industrial sites, recommend truck route designations and restrictions, and recommendations for capital improvements;
WHEREAS, this grant requires local match of $56,000.00, which is funded by 11300.1500.520380 P24192 A10847, and the funding period is 10/1/18 through 9/30/21; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President of the Board of Commissioners of Cook County and/or her designee, the Superintendent of the Department of Transportation and Highways (DOTH), is hereby authorized to execute such documents as required to accept the sum of Two Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand and NO/100 dollars ($224,000.00) from the Illinois Department of Transportation's Statewide Planning and Research Program for professional services necessary to complete this planning study; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Grant Award shall be used by the Department of Transportation and Highways for said planning study and shall be designated as Section: 19-6SCTS-00-ES; and
