Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF PASTOR V?CTOR HUGO RODR?GUEZ WHEREAS, Pastor V?ctor Hugo Rodr?guez, affectionately known to community members as "Pastor Vic," was born on January 16, 1967 in Nuevo Ideal, Durango, M?xico to Juana and Emigdio Rodr?guez; and WHEREAS, as a young child, he and his family moved to the Little Village community on the Southwest Side of Chicago, a neighborhood for which he developed a life-long love and commitment; and WHEREAS, Pastor Vic first met his wife, Magdalena, in January 1990 at Holy Trinity Church in Chicago. They were married for 27 years and were blessed with two sons and a nephew whom they regarded as a son: V?ctor, Isaih, and Luis Alberto Perales; and WHEREAS, Pastor Vic was a graduate of Christian Life College in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and was in full-time ministry for 26 years. HONORING THE LIFE AND CONTRIBUTIONS OF PASTOR V?CTOR HUGO RODR?GUEZ

WHEREAS, Pastor V?ctor Hugo Rodr?guez, affectionately known to community members as "Pastor Vic," was born on January 16, 1967 in Nuevo Ideal, Durango, M?xico to Juana and Emigdio Rodr?guez; and

WHEREAS, as a young child, he and his family moved to the Little Village community on the Southwest Side of Chicago, a neighborhood for which he developed a life-long love and commitment; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Vic first met his wife, Magdalena, in January 1990 at Holy Trinity Church in Chicago. They were married for 27 years and were blessed with two sons and a nephew whom they regarded as a son: V?ctor, Isaih, and Luis Alberto Perales; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Vic was a graduate of Christian Life College in Mount Prospect, Illinois, and was in full-time ministry for 26 years. He pastored the local body of La Villita Community Church for the past 20 years, and

WHEREAS, while Pastor Vic's service began in the Church, he also felt a sincere calling to assist in advancing his community and was passionate about developing the next generation of local leaders; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Vic was a cornerstone of the La Villita community and a man who truly loved and served his community and was devoted to speaking truth and enacting social justice; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Vic's work addressed pressing community issues such as violence prevention to youth development, health and wellness, domestic violence, and the expansion of homeownership as a way to combat gentrification; and

WHEREAS, Pastor Vic was on the Board of Directors of various community and religious organizations that included Lawndale Christian Health Center and Un Nuevo Despertar, as well as involvement with Comunidad en Acci?n; and

WHERAS, notably, Pastor Vic founded the Chicago Youth Boxing Club in the basement of La Villita Community Church, which has developed young leaders and athletes with a focus on service and leadership...
