PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING SYMPHONY OF CHANGE INC. AND DANDRIA "DANI JO" WILLIAMS
WHEREAS, Symphony of Change, Inc. is dedicated to restoring music and arts programs in underserved Chicago schools that face budget cuts, attendance challenges and low graduation rates; and
WHEREAS, Symphony of Change, Inc. was founded by recording artist and producer T. L. Williams on May 31, 2016; and
WHEREAS, Dandria "Dani Jo" Williams is the executive director of Symphony of Change Inc., which has served more than 5,000 students increasing attendance and academic success by 50 percent in the Chicago schools they serve; and
WHEREAS, Dandria "Dani Jo" Williams is the administrative assistant to National Co-Chairman Jerry W. Williams Sr., of the Infinite Scholars Program, which has given support to more than 100,000 students throughout the country to enable them to successfully apply for and graduate with a college degree; and
WHEREAS, despite battling interstitial cystitis, an incurable chronic bladder disease that doctors said would end her dancing career, Dandria "Dani Jo" Williams is a choreographer and dance teacher for the Joffrey Ballet Chicago, teaching ballet, jazz, African, modern, hip hop, and Latin dance styles to more than 1,000 students; and
WHEREAS, Dandria "Dani Jo" Williams is the director of A&R at Quiet Kingdom Recordings, an independent music label headquartered in Chicago overseeing the artist development and careers of numerous recording artists, while producing and writing songs for them as well; and
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the President and the Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the residents of Cook County, honor Symphony of Change Inc. and Executive Director Dandria "Dani Jo" Williams, and praise the essential contribution to the cultural health and viability of Cook County.
