PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING FR. WOJCIECH ARTUR MARAT
WHEREAS, on Sunday, June 30, 2019, a special Mass will be celebrated at St. Barbara Church, and
WHEREAS, among the many blessings for which the parishioners of St. Barbara will offer thanks on that day is that God has blessed them and sent to them His grace through the good works and benevolence of Father Wojciech Artur Marat, Pastor of St. Barbara Church, and
WHEREAS, Father Marat was born and raised in Bialystock, Poland, and
WHEREAS, Father Marat was ordained on June 16, 1988, and
WHEREAS, Father Marat served as a chaplain to the Bialystock associations of Catholic doctors from 1998-2000 and lawyers as adjutant judicial vicar and judge of the metropolitan tribunal from 2000 - 2002, and
WHEREAS, Father Marat served as defender of the bond for the metropolitan tribunal from 2003-2006, 2012- present and as a judge on the metropolitan tribunal from 2006-2011 in the Archdiocese of Chicago, and
WHEREAS, Father Marat holds degrees in canon law from the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin and is a member of the canon law societies of both the United States and Poland, and
WHEREAS, Father Marat has served as associate pastor of St. Richard, St. John Fisher and St. Thecla before receiving his his assignment at St. Barbara Parish in September of 2013, and
WHEREAS, in recognition of his outstanding service to the parishioners of St. Barbara Parish, the parishioners of St. Barbara Catholic Church will gather in a celebratory farewell Mass on June 30, 2019, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of Cook County that the Board does hereby extend its congratulations to Father Wojciech Artur Marat for this special recognition, and extends its gratitude on behalf of the community for his outstanding service over the years, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body, and an official copy of same be presented to ...
