Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION RESOLUTION HONORING FIVE GIRL SCOUTS FROM QUEEN OF ALL SAINTS TROOPS FOR RECEIVING THEIR GOLD AWARDS WHEREAS, Nokomis Service Unit #295 is proud to announce that four Girl Scouts in QAS AmbassadorTroop #20067 and one from Troop #23140 have completed their Gold Awards; and, WHEREAS, The Gold Award is the highest achievement a Girl Scout can earn since it requires the design and development of a multifaceted and sustainable community project; and, WHEREAS, The girls who have been in Girl Scouts for most of their school years will be heading off to college where they will be utilizing their fine-tuned Gold Award project based skills; and, WHEREAS, Shannon Cichanski created chemotherapy care kits by collecting items needed by chemo patients to ease their treatment experience. Shannon delivered the kits to Rush University Hospital; and, WHEREAS, Gabi Finch developed the "Pet Pantry Pals" program that collects pet food donations for Lakeview Food Pantry so famil...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

RESOLUTION HONORING FIVE GIRL SCOUTS FROM QUEEN OF ALL SAINTS TROOPS FOR RECEIVING THEIR GOLD AWARDS

 

WHEREAS, Nokomis Service Unit #295 is proud to announce that four Girl Scouts in QAS AmbassadorTroop #20067 and one from Troop #23140 have completed their Gold Awards; and,

 

WHEREAS, The Gold Award is the highest achievement a Girl Scout can earn since it requires the design and development of a multifaceted and sustainable community project; and,

 

WHEREAS, The girls who have been in Girl Scouts for most of their school years will be heading off to college where they will be utilizing their fine-tuned Gold Award project based skills; and,

 

WHEREAS, Shannon Cichanski created chemotherapy care kits by collecting items needed by chemo patients to ease their treatment experience. Shannon delivered the kits to Rush University Hospital; and,

 

WHEREAS, Gabi Finch developed the "Pet Pantry Pals” program that collects pet food donations for Lakeview Food Pantry so families will not have to give up their pets because of the expense involved; and

 

WHEREAS, Kimberly Grabiec started the “Bullet Journal Club” which helped students at her high school create outlines for time management and find more time for activities and personal projects; and,

 

WHEREAS, Mia Warren created a program that teaches senior citizens how to use popular technological resources and social media. Her website tutorials will help the seniors stay connected with their communities; and,

 

WHEREAS, Lizzie Ramirez’s “Comfort Carts” provided “brain break” items for special needs students in a suburban elementary school. She also created a “quiet area” where students can refocus before returning to the classroom.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, the Cook County Board of Commissioners commends the work of all five girls for this high achievement of the Girl Scout Gold Award and their leaders for their guidance and support.
