PROPOSED RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION HONORING STEPHANIE LOVE PATTERSON
WHEREAS, Stephanie Love-Patterson is the Executive Director of Connections for Abused Women and their Children (CAWC) and is a Certified Domestic Violence Professional; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Love- Patterson oversees program services for CAWC including Greenhouse Shelter, the Humboldt Park Outreach Program, Domestic Violence Services at Haymarket Center, and the Hospital Crisis Intervention Project at John Stroger Hospital and Northwestern Memorial Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Love-Patterson provides training and technical assistance to various organizations and healthcare professionals throughout the community to help create a coordinated response to domestic violence; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Love-Patterson has been a trained sexual assault advocate since 1985. Some of her professional work include counselor and advocate at A Safe Place Shelter, Rape Victim Advocates’ John H. Stroger Hospital Satellite Program, which is a collaborative effort of Rape Victim Advocates and the Health and Hospital System of Cook County; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie serves as President of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Coalition Against Domestic Violence and a past member of the Board of Directors for the Chicago Metropolitan Battered Women’s Network from 2005 until 2007; and
WHEREAS, Stephanie Love-Patterson is a true beacon of hope as a champion for Domestic Violence victims and survivors she has served for 30 years.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that President Toni Preckwinkle and Cook County Board of Commissioners, and on behalf of the 5.2 million residents of Cook County do hereby congratulate Ms. Stephanie Love-Patterson on the occasion of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and for the important and commendable service and leadership she provides.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a suitable copy of this resolution be spread upon the official proceeding of this Honorable Body and a ceremonial copy be given to Stephanie Love Patterson in commemoration of this auspicious occasion.
