PROPOSED RESOLUTION
CONGRATULATING THOMAS HERGENREDER ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM COOK COUNTY GOVERNMENT
WHEREAS, Thomas Hergenreder has been a dedicated, loyal public servant employee for Cook County Government for 30 years; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hergenreder began his career at Cook County in 1989 as a Clerk III for the Department of Construction, Maintenance and Operations under President George W. Dunne, and subsequently worked under Presidents Richard Phelan, John H. Stroger, Bobbie L. Steele, Todd Stroger, and Toni Preckwinkle; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hergenreder remained with Construction, Maintenance and Operations through the department's name change to Department of Facilities Management; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hergenreder was promoted and held a variety of positions from Clerk II, Storeroom Clerk V, and Administrative Assistant IV; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Hergenreder held a variety of responsibilities under his current title as Administrative Assistant IV, from handling all purchases for DFM that were $10,000.00 or less (1996 - 2002), assisting the Deputy Director at the outlying courthouses (2002- 2009), managing Skokie and Rolling Meadows courthouses to ensure that the facilities were maintained and operated while providing a safe, reliable, and clean environment (2009- 2013), and managing MarketPlace contracts and several maintenance contracts (2013- present); and
WHEREAS, Thomas was an active member of St. Hilary's Men's Club, where he served as the President for two years and provided all the meals; he was especially known for his spaghetti and meatballs and corned beef meals; and
WHEREAS, Thomas is known for countless hours volunteering at St. Hilary's and helping raise funds for the children's' sports program; and
WHEREAS, Thomas is grateful for all co-workers who have turned into lifelong friends; and
WHEREAS, Thomas appreciates many things, but his greatest love is the love he has for his family, including his wife, Judy, his child...
