PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING THE HEROIC ACT OF LAWRENCE SANTORO
WHEREAS, Lawrence Santoro has been an investigator with the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office for almost 8 years; and
WHEREAS, on December 23, 2019, Mr. Santoro was driving to investigate the scene of a death; and
WHEREAS, as he was driving on the Eisenhower Expressway, Mr. Santoro came across an accident; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Santoro saw that the car appeared to be on fire, so he quickly radioed for help; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Santoro saw two men in the vehicle, one of whom was unconscious; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Santoro began CPR on the unconscious individual until the Fire Department arrived; and
WHEREAS, as a result of Mr. Santoro’s actions, the lives of the two accident victims were saved; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Cook County Board of Commissioners, on behalf of the 5.2 million residents and over 22,000 employees of Cook County, honors Lawrence Santoro for his heroic lifesaving act; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and that an official copy of the same be tendered to Lawrence Santoro.
