Summary: The Department of Transportation and Highways respectfully requests approval of the Proposed Contract Amendment between the County and Sargents Equipment and Repair Services Inc., Gilberts, Illinois. This amendment will continue to provide for annual inspection, routine maintenance and repair services on as- needed basis for the Salt Dome Conveyor System at the Department of Transportation and Highways District 2, 4 and 5 field offices. These Conveyors are used for loading Road Salt into Cook Counties Salt Storage Domes for use during winter snow removal operations. During the initial three-year term of this agreement, repairs were completed on the three conveyor systems. It is anticipated additional repairs to the conveyor systems are expected. Continued...
