Summary: This extension and increase will allow the Medical Examiner’s Office (MEO) to continue purchasing autopsy supplies. This contract, which provides autopsy supplies that are used every day, is the most important contract for the MEO. This extension and increase are needed to allow the MEO time to assess its options for obtaining autopsy supplies at the most competitive pricing in consideration of the Covid-19 pandemic. A new bid is currently being drafted.
The Vendor was selected through a publicly advertised competitive bidding process in accordance with the Cook County Procurement Code. Southland Medical, LLC was the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder.
