Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION REMEMBERING AND HONORING THE LIFE OF KRISTIN ARIELLE OLIVER WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom called from our midst Kristin Arielle Oliver on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the age of 31; and WHEREAS, Kristin was born in Country Club Hills, IL on February 4, 1989 to Pamela and Kelvin Oliver, their second baby girl after big sister Tiffani; and WHEREAS, Kristin would follow in the footsteps of her big sister being baptized at Holy Name of Mary Church in Chicago, and started school at St. Emeric Catholic Church; and WHEREAS, growing up, Kristin learned dance as an expression of her style and grace, with ballet and tap recitals becoming the norm year after year; and WHEREAS, later she would become a cheerleader for the County Club Hills Cougars, and at the young age of 5 a childhood friend introduced her to ice skating, and she would enroll for lessons at Homewood Flossmoor Ice Arena; and WHEREAS, athleticism, strength and determination to succeed would l...

PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

REMEMBERING AND HONORING THE LIFE OF KRISTIN ARIELLE OLIVER

 

WHEREAS, Almighty God in His infinite wisdom called from our midst Kristin Arielle Oliver on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the age of 31; and

 

WHEREAS, Kristin was born in Country Club Hills, IL on February 4, 1989 to Pamela and Kelvin Oliver, their second baby girl after big sister Tiffani; and

 

WHEREAS, Kristin would follow in the footsteps of her big sister being baptized at Holy Name of Mary Church in Chicago, and started school at St. Emeric Catholic Church; and

 

WHEREAS, growing up, Kristin learned dance as an expression of her style and grace, with ballet and tap recitals becoming the norm year after year; and

 

WHEREAS, later she would become a cheerleader for the County Club Hills Cougars, and at the young age of 5 a childhood friend introduced her to ice skating, and she would enroll for lessons at Homewood Flossmoor Ice Arena; and

 

WHEREAS, athleticism, strength and determination to succeed would lead her to try out for the competitive figure skating dance team the Icettes, and her love of ice dancing prompted her to pursue both solo and couples dance performance, which in turn lead to competing in figure skating competitions around the country earning many 1st place trophies, plaques and ribbons along the way; and

 

WHEREAS, Kristin attended Huth Middle School and later matriculated to Rich Central High School, where she would win a spot on the cheerleading squad for all four years; and

 

WHEREAS, her service heart and sense of civic duty led her to organize a voter registration drive and a get out the vote campaign for a village election in addition to running for student council; and

 

WHEREAS, the lessons learned through competition would carry her through high school, college and beyond; and

 

WHEREAS, Kristin pursued her higher education at Tennessee State University majoring in Business Management while again winning a spot on the cheerleading squad; and

 

WHEREAS, while at university, Kristin would broaden her horizons and knowledge by studying abroad as part of the Consortium for International Studies, an international marketing group, leading her to study in Amsterdam, Holland and Brussels, Belgium and instilling in her a love of nature and world cultures that would include more global adventures in the future; and

 

WHEREAS, after graduation from university, Kristin would return to Chicago where she would become a Production Assistant for the nationally syndicated Judge Mathis television show; and

 

WHEREAS, she would go on to pursue the AT & T Business Sales Leadership program, a highly competitive 9-month intensive training program in Atlanta, GA, which upon successful completion would lead Kristin to be placed in Corporate sales in Charlotte, NC where she was recognized by regional managers for her accomplishments; and

 

WHEREAS, Kristin would later move to another telecom giant Verizon Fleetmatics, where she would be a Business Development Representative all the while using her business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit to start her own business “Blink Beauty”; and

 

WHEREAS, throughout her life, family, friends and her spirituality played vital roles and would provide her strength and comfort when she became ill; and

 

WHEREAS, Kristin is survived by her parents Kelvin and Pamela, sister Tiffani, brother Kendall, grandparents Wilbert Jr. and Dorothy Oliver and a multitude of other family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the President and Members of the Cook County Board of Commissioners does hereby offer its deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family and loved ones of Kristin Arielle Oliver; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT, this text be spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body and a suitable copy be presented to the family of Kristin Arielle Oliver so that his memory may be so honored and ever cherished.
