PROPOSED RESOLUTION
HONORING MOTHER BETTY PRICE FOR HER COMMITMENT, DEDICATION, AND SERVICE TO COOK COUNTY
WHEREAS, Mother Betty Price was born in Yazoo County Mississippi, on September 27, 1949; and
WHEREAS, Mother Price was 7 years old when her beloved mother passed away. She was raised by her father Deacon Lenwood Genous Sr. As a young child, Mother Price loved helping families and especially taking care of the elderly in her community. She would provide personal services for them, such as cleaning their homes and cooked meals for them; and
WHEREAS, Mother Betty Price graduated from high school in May 24, 1968. She married the love of her life Mr. Earnest Price on June 2, of the same year. Mother Price and Earnest Price moved to Chicago the next day to start their family. She has to beautiful daughters, who blessed them with eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and
WHEREAS, Growing up as a child, mother Price experience hunger many times. She had a vision and vowed that when she became an adult, she would not let anyone go hungry, especially children's and seniors. Mother Price began her service by giving food and clothing from her apartment to anyone who was in need, therefore giving her the affectionate name of Mother Betty Price. She provides uplifting services and gives the best hugs to families in the Englewood community and abroad; and
WHEREAS, As her ministry began to grow, it became the Feed, Clothe, and Help the Needy organization, (F.C.H.N.) In April 2020, Mother Price and the F.C.H.N. Family celebrated 32 years of service to communities throughout the Southside of Chicago. While the support is free, Mother Price and Deacon Price uses their own resource to provide for the less fortunate, sometimes denying their own needs; and
WHEREAS, five days a week, Mother Price assist in the kitchen at F.C.H.N personally preparing delicious hot meals, and during Thanksgiving and Christmas she is diligent that every child receives a ...
