Title: PROPOSED RESOLUTION HONORING MRS. TRACIE WORTHY FOR LEADERSHIP, COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION IN THE NORTH LAWNDALE COMMUNITY WHEREAS, Tracie Worthy is a Pittsburgh Pennsylvania native, her commitment to the health and well-being of individuals and families led to her move to Chicago in 1993, and making the North Lawndale Community her home Tracie has been blessed to be a visionary, encourager and supporter to the people that she works with in her community ; and WHEREAS, Tracie Worthy received her B.A, in Psychology from Duquesne University and her M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. She began her professional career at the Lawndale Christian Health Center, Chicago, IL. PROPOSED RESOLUTION

 

HONORING MRS. TRACIE WORTHY FOR LEADERSHIP, COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION IN THE NORTH LAWNDALE COMMUNITY

 

WHEREAS, Tracie Worthy is a Pittsburgh Pennsylvania native, her commitment to the health and well-being of individuals and families led to her move to Chicago in 1993, and making the  North Lawndale  Community her home Tracie has been blessed to be a visionary, encourager and supporter to the people that she works with in her community ; and

 

WHEREAS, Tracie Worthy received her B.A, in Psychology from Duquesne University and her M.Ed. in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh. She began her professional career at the Lawndale Christian Health Center, Chicago, IL. During that time, she served as a counselor, outreach worker, grant manager and a supervisor focusing on mental health and wellness initiatives; and

 

WHEREAS, Tracie Worthy; later joined the Lawndale Christian Development Corporation as the New Community Program Director. She recognized and supported community stakeholders, igniting community pride by incubating the MLK District Garden. It was a collaborative initiative designed to address issues related to safety, beautification and food insecurity; and

 

WHEREAS, Tracie Worthy joined I AM ABLE Center for Family Development as the first 8-Block Leader in order to support the Trauma Response and Intervention Movement (TR4IM) a program designed to help residents respond to, remove, reduce and recover from trauma 8-Blocks at a time.  She volunteered as the first 8-Block Leader and later became the Director of ABLE’s Community Collaboration and Resident Engagement (CCRE) Program and TRIM Supervisor. She facilitated a partnership with Harmony’s Food Pantry to deliver food to seniors in the 8-block Sector that continues to provide support throughout COVID-19.  She is now currently the Vice President and Healthy Relationships Coordinator at I AM ABLE; and

 

WHEREAS, Tracie Worthy is extremely grateful for God’s grace in her life, she has been married for 40 years to Thomas Worthy and has one son Taylor Worthy; and

 

WHEREAS, Cook County Government acknowledges Tracie Worthy for transforming lives through community engagement.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, on behalf of President Toni Preckwinkle, the Cook County Board of Commissioners and on behalf of the over five million residents of Cook County, do hereby recognize Tracie Worthy for her leadership, commitment, and dedication in the North Lawndale community and so wish Tracie Worthy every continued success in her future endeavors, and may a copy of this resolution be tendered herewith.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be tendered to Tracie Worthy, and a copy is spread upon the official proceedings of this Honorable Body.
